At Friends Funeral Home, we offer a great variety of services involving cremation. We are open to custom-made arrangements and work with your special wishes. Cremation is a wonderful way to return our avatars into particles so they can rejoin the dance of life and nature.
Direct Cremation – $1198
This includes:
- service of the funeral director and staff
- transportation of the remains to our crematory (up to 35 miles, under 250 pounds)
- standard cremation container
- refrigeration and storage
- cremation fees
- simple black urn
- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit
- personal return of the cremains to the family
If you chose to purchase an urn online and have it send to us, we will return the cremains to you in your chosen urn with no further charges.
Home Wake, Cremation – $2298
This includes:
- service of the funeral director and staff
- preparing, washing and dressing the body of your loved one at home, with as little or much of your participation as you wish
- setting up a beautiful viewing/home wake on a bed of silks and roses at your home
(If you chose to keep the body at home for a wake (up to 3 days), we will apply dry ice to conserve it.) - transportation of the remains to our crematory

- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit
- personal return of the cremains to the family

If you would like to have your loved one picked up for sanitary care and return them to your home in a rental casket, we offer this service for an additional fee. Please call to inquire about your many options.
Up to two Hour Viewing at Crematory, Cremation – $2998
This includes:

- transportation of the remains to our crematory
- sanitary care, washing and dressing the body of your loved one in our prep room
- Rental Casket
- Up to two hour viewing/service in beautiful chapel at our Altadena crematory
- refrigeration and storage
- cremation fees

- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit
- personal return of the cremains to the family

One Hour Viewing and Witness Cremation (Altadena) – $2698
This includes:

- 1h viewing in our Chapel, followed by
- witness cremation
- simple black urn
- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit

Hindu Ceremony and Viewing, Witness Cremation – $2998
(Long Beach or Altadena)
This includes:
- service of the funeral director and staff
- transportation of the remains to our crematory

- preparing, washing and dressing the body of your loved one in our prep room
- silk-covered cremation container
- 2h viewing and Hindu ceremony in our chapel, followed by
- witness cremation (same location)
- simple black urn
- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit
- personal return of the cremains to the family
We are happy to put you in touch with our Hindu priest ($600 extra charge, including materials) or work with your priest.

Viewing, Service at place of Worship, Cremation – $3498
This includes:
- service of the funeral director and staff
- transportation of the remains to our facility
- refrigeration and storage
- sanitary care, washing, dressing and casketing the body of your loved one in our prep room
- rental casket and insert (the insert is a one-time use silk cremation container with white casket padding that will be cremated with the body)
- transportation in a hearse to the place of worship, driver at standby, return to crematory after service
- 2h viewing and ceremony/service at a place of worship of your choice. We help make all the arrangements, location fees up to $300 are included.

Cremation, Custom-Made End-of-Life Celebration – Starting at $2298
This is includes:

- transportation of the remains to our crematory

- simple black urn
- one certified death certificate and one disposition permit
- personal return of the cremains to the family
- organization (and hosting, if needed) of an End-of-Life Celebration. Popular locations include (but are not limited to) the beach, the park, rental event spaces, private homes, etc… (no location fees included)
We offer catering, surfer’s paddle outs, horse-drawn carriages, dove or bio-degradable balloon releases, musical or dance performances ceremonies for all kinds of religions, spiritual beliefs, walk of lives and budgets. We will work with you to make this a memorable, amazing event you will never forget.
